Even though the successor to Windows Server 2012 R2 is still a while away, the Hyper-V function in Windows 10 is already included in the preview version and is functional. There are some interesting new features that significantly improve virtualization based on Windows 10 (Server). We will show you how to use it in practice.

The innovations in Hyper-V based on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Server make the work of administrators much easier.

The new features in Hyper-V based on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Server aka Windows Server vNext make work much easier for administrators, can provide virtual servers and their configuration files more reliably and, above all, offer significantly better options for creating snapshots. In our picture gallery, we show the new options in practice: how they are configured and used and what advantages they bring for companies and administrators.

New VM version 6.2 and better snapshots
The new features can only be used if administrators enable Hungary Phone Number List the new version 6.2 for VMs. VMs created with Windows 10 automatically receive version 6.2. When VMs are migrated to Windows 10, version 5.0 is retained. This version does not support the new snapshot features or the new binary configuration files.

To manage Hyper-V with PowerShell, it must be started with administrator rights via the context menu. This is no longer necessary in Windows 10 Server.
